Welding

Welding
Welding is an irreplacable manufacturing technique for large components. Contrary to seamless products, welding seams always represent a weak spot, and that is why the welding technique, and especially the quality of welding, must be attached to great importance.
Heraeus prefers the TIG (Tungston Inert Gas) welding technique. This technique is applicable to all purposes and very "clean" because it hardly generates harmful substances or spatters and guarantees high quality welding joints in case of right use. A particular advantage of the TIG welding is that, unlike other welding techniques working with melting electrodes, the addition of welding material and amperage is decoupled. As a result, the welder can optimally adjust the electricity to the welding task by simply adding as much welding material as needed.
Depending on the size and kind of the components, handsets and automatical straight and girth welding machines are used.
Apart from the TIG welding, laser and hammer welding as well as different soldering techniques belong to the common procedures at Heraeus.
